I was just browsing around Christchurch and came across this enormous hole in the ground, right in the middle of runway 02/20 at NZCH:
If you mouse around it appears to be about 1200 m deep! Somebody's got a bit of a data entry error somewhere.

I downloaded the new Google Earth 5.0 yesterday. It has some pretty neat features, like the ability to see earth images taken in the past, using a simple slider interface. It also has ocean depth data, which is interesting.
