I just discovered that the local community college offers (mostly) free beginner language courses in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian/Malay, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. One only needs to buy the textbook and pay some nominal admin fee. This could be interesting.

Not sure, maybe Māori. There's a whole department for that, I just listed the "other" international languages. :)
