damn hardware

It looks like the boot drive on one of my machines failed sometime in the wee hours of this morning. This was my old PII-300 which I had mostly replaced by a new P4 machine last summer. However, all my email was still on the old machine (I hadn't got around to moving it yet). Unless I can recover more of it this afternoon, it looks like I lost the last five months of my inbox (I was able to recover everything up to November 2003). This is disturbing but not catastrophic, and it looks like all my saved folders are still intact because they were on a different drive that didn't fail (I hope).

As a result of this failure, my temperature monitor graph and NOAA Weather Radio streams are offline.

This morning I successfully restored email service on my new machine. The spam is flowing in once again.
